A Day in the Life 
As a Compliance Engineer, you will be working closely with our team of highly skilled and creative engineers, product managers, and regulatory compliance quality assurance (QA) team to ensure our technology meets regulatory requirements and are functioning to the highest degree. 
Some of your key responsibilities include: 

  • Work closely with our development team (product team), QA, and engineering teams to ensure compliance obligations are being met by all teams during the development process. 
  • Collaborate with our engineering teams to design for compliance. 
  • Conduct product and usability tests that test user interface (UI) and functionality. 
  • Produce reports based on tests and studies run to determine functionality of our products (e.g., Oculus Quest 2 as a medical device). 
  • Maintain and manage electronic records of test results, certificates, technical documents, procedures, declarations of product compliance, work instructions based on our software, etc. 
  • Offer your thoughts and ideas through participation in production-related meetings (we love hearing new ideas and encourage sharing perspectives!). 

What You Bring to the Table
BA in Computer Science, Engineering, related technical field, or the equivalent combination of education and technical training.  
2+ years of relevant work experience. 
Experience in quality assurance and testing of technical products. 
Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.  
An eagerness to learn new techniques and ask questions. 
Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats. 
Knowledge of product compliance and safety standards related to medical technologies and VR. 
Bonus Points If You Have:  

  • IS0 13485 certification or experience is a bonus! 
  • Experience with using software as a medical device. 
  • Experience with medical imaging software. 
  • Experience in VR/AR/MR software development, knowledge of Oculus; HTC Vive; Microsoft Mixed Reality Devices. 
  • Understanding of GPU architecture; experience in parallel computation, GPGPU
